WORKERS' COMPENSATION.
The Legislative.Council has parsed the second reading of a Workers' Compensation for Accident" Amendment Bill. The object of the measure is to prevent the continued attempts by Insurance Companies to repudiate liability in ease of accidents. The Bill, being a private one, will not reach the Statute Book. The discussion upon it will serve as an indication that the existing conditions are anything but satisfactory, and the Government may Be induced to bring dqwn legislation dealing with the •subject.
