(Received Last Night,- 11.15 o'clock.) LONDON, August 29.

The War Office in reply to the Lord Mayor of Belfast regrets that it is unable to supply the proposed young citizen volunteers with rifles, which are disused or unfit for firing. A correspondent mentions that 'the War Office in 1909 supplied the Old Boys Brigade in Dublin with discarded rifles at Is Gd each.
