An Australian contributor of an article to the Times, m reply to that paper's references to the Australian navy, quotes the safeguard under the Defence Conference memorandum of 1911 in. connection with, the movement of ships beyond the Commonwealth stations. He anticipates that the result will be the stationing in the Pacific-of an officer* liokling high rank in the Home naval service with a worthy division of the Imperial iNavy, and he would constantly represent the Admiralty side of the control.
