RAILWAYMEN DISMISSED
FOR THREATENING TO STRIKE.
(Received Last Night, 11 o'clock.)
LONDON, August 28. A number of railway men were dismissed for participating in strikes. They were engaged by the Amalgamated Society of Railways as members of the clerical staff, at 30s per week, to deal with the extra work entailed in connection with Insurance, threatened to strike because they did not receive 35s per week, which is the minimum recognised by the National Union of Clerks.
