WELLINGTON; Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued the following report":— The barometer- Iras fallen steadily in the south, and Unsteadily olsewhqre. Cloudiness hj:« extended over many parts r.f the Bomiiiio:i, and showers about Foveaux Strait, but fair weather has prevailed. Strong northerly winds prevail over tho South Island, and variable brw.es in the north. Present indications arc for strong westerly winds northward of New. Plymouth and Napier, and northerlics strong to gale elsewhere, for westerly storm area now apparently developing on Tamilian Sea. Expect increasing cloudincfis. with rain, following generally, but especially on the West Coast of the southern districts. The barometer will probably fall everywhere. a:u] low in th? south. ~
