Mr A. McFarlano har. been re-elect-ed chairman of directors of tho Ballance Dairy Company.
Mr C. E. Daniell has been elected chairman of the Masterton branch of the Masterton-Waipukurau Railway League. Mr W. W. McCardle, Mayor of Pahiatua, returns to Wellington by the Manuka to-day. Mr Robert Lee was yesterday reelected chairman of the Wellington Education Board. This is the ninth term in which Mr Lee has occupied the position.
Mr J. C. Cooper, managing director of the Wellington Farmers' Meat Export Company, return to Masterton yesterday from a visit to the South Island.
His Excellency the Governor has intimated that he will visit Masterton on September lOtlii, to officially open the local branch of the Overseas Club.
Mr C. N. Baeyertz, who has been judging at the recent Napier Elocutionary Competitions, passed through Masterton yesterday on his way south. '
Tho following resignations of teachrrs were accented by the Wellington Education Board yesterday:—Mr J. A. Gilmour, sole jbeaeher at Rakaunui; Miss L. M. Bradford, sole teacher at Waiohanga; Miss L. Harvey, solo teacher at Aohonga.
. Leave of absence has been granted by the Wellington Education Board to Miss J. Freeman, Te Ore Ore ; Miss I. Merlet, Matarawa ; Miss C. Harvey, Waingawa ; Miss F. Strong. Kaiwarra; Miss K. Caverhill. Te Whit;; and Mr P. M. Jackson. Kopuaranga. Visitors at the Club Hotel, Masterton, include Messrs Hollow, West, Baumgart, McDuff, Metzger. McKee, Stainton, Hart, McDonald, Chapman, Sweeney and Atliza (Wellington).
