The annual meeting of the N.Z. Farmers' Dairy Union was hold here to-day. Mr T. Parsons Mian-man), and most of the directors', with twenty sh upholders, being present. " : The Chairman, in moving the addition of the report and balancesheet, said the company had had a most .successful year. The amount ; of the turnover had been :—Butter. £76,808; cheese, £12.901; total, £89,772, an increase of £SOOO over the previous year. They had paid out ]Jd per pound more than in any previous year. The advances made were on the liberal side, with the result tint he had to record a lops of £739, and they had to draw from the general profit deficiency. This left their account £ll4l still in credit. The Chairman considered the prospects for the coming season for both butter and cheese were* really good. He urged suppliers to go in for properly testing their cows, and said that a great amount of money was lost each year by keeping cows that did not pay for their keep. A lot of money way lost to producers by allowing their produce to get into the hands of too many people, and he advocated co-operation in manufacturing, and also in putting on the mar- J ket. Producers had no control over,! the market, neither had supply or demand. He hoped the time was not far distant when the producers would combine to put themselves into a better position by getting the full benefit of their labour. After a long discussion, a motion declaring a five per cent dividend was lost, only three voting for jt. It was then unanimously decided not to declare any bomig or dividend this year. Messrs T. Parsons and J. A. Nash were re-elected directors, and Mr R. Wilberforce auditor all unopposed.
