CO-OPERATIVE MARKETING.

Many month? ago this paper urged upon co-operative butter and cheese

companies the importance* of co-oper-ating in the marketing as well as the production of dairy produce. Although nothing definite has yet been done in this direction, it is satisfactory to note \hnt those engaged in the industry are begiimiiig to recognise its importance. At the annual meeting of the N.Z. Fanners' Dairy Union yesterday, the Chairman of Directors emphasised the necessity for co-oper-ative marketing, and pointed out that" heavy loss was being sustained through the present system of disposing of dairy produce. ■ It is to be hoped that flio remarks of Mr T. Parsons will induce the N.Z. Dairy Association to project some scheme for marketing which will result in an improvement on the present slip-shod system.
