CLEARING SALE. Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report having held a very successful clearing sale on Friday, 23rd, August, on account of Tlios. Ray, Esq., o:i his farm at Clareville, when they offered all his live and dead stock, which met with good competition, buyery -being'present .from all parts of the district. Quotations are as follows: Ewes in lamb 17s _9d, hoggets 13& 6d, wethers 17s Bd, roan cow (clcso to calving) £lO os, store cow £4 os, yearling heifers £3 10s, draught mare, Judy, £25 10s, draught mare, Doll, £23 10s, cheytnut mare by An Revo'r £lO, black pony £7 lCs. Implements [and sundries told well rip to clearing rates. Hay £3 17s per ton, straw ■Wfi per ton, ryegrass seed 24s per sack, cocksfoot 25s per sack.
