THK ANNUAL HEPOTR'i. Following is the report of tiie Hexdale Co-operative Dairy Company, to be presented to the annual meeting on Saturday next: — Tiie Directors have much pleasure in presenting the Third Annual Heport and liakinco Sheet of the Comnanv.
The milk delivered at the Factory was 3.340\0091b5., it contained 120.- I 417.20ib5. butter-fat, and produced 329.1801!)* (!-!<) tons 19 cwt) of cheese. The average test was 3.7-1. The. cheese manufactured the previous season amounted to 04 tons I cwt. The quantity of milk required nor lb or choose "was lO.lGlbs, one lh of butter fat produced 2.621bs cheese and the cost of manufacture was .11 per lh on truck. After paying an advance to suppliers of £6271 Os 2d, the profit, and loss account has a credit halance cf £1326 18s Cd. Thi:, the. directors recommend should he disposed of as follows: £l2ll 2s Id r-s a bonus of 2;ld per lb of butter fat supplied. £l2 Gs as a dividend - of (J per cent, on paid up capital, and the balance £73 10s -Id to he written off the properties and plant.- The total payment for butter fat for the season is thus 1 l-Jd ■ per lb, As the whole of-the legal ex- \ penses incurred during the formation of the company and those incurred during the throe years the Company has been opera .ting have been paid out of this years profit and loss account, ishireholdcrs have yause for congratulation that the year's working has been so successful. Mr K. j Grcathcad, who has been manager of j directors since the formation of the ' company, resigned at the end of the season, 'he having removed from the district. Mr 'Medium's removal is a distinct loss to the company. . and your directors placed on record and conveyed to Mr Bodmin the company's appreciation of his past, services and regret at his removal. Mr E. E. Greatheal. who has been manager, of the factory for the past three yur.s resigned Ids position to take up a more lucrative position elsewhere, and Mr T). M. Cole resigned his position as secretary early in the year. | he- also having removed from the district. The company is fortu tain in having scoured the service's of Mr X. Olson as manager, he beinp; selected out of 47 applications for that post- | tion. During the year a residence was erected for the manager, an ad- : ditional cheese vat and press were in- \ stalled to cope with the larger supply of milk, and since the, end. of the financial year a large new boiler has replaced the small one. It will probably be found necessary to instal a fourth vat, and this matter the directors have now under consideration. | Your directors report with satisfaction that applications for over 300 , shares have been received from new suppliers, and. when those are allotted the company will have well over ! £IOOO subscribed capital. The future of the company is assured.- Durina the year no share capital was called up. There are two vacancies on the hoard of directors which will he required to be filled.
