LONDON, August 24. The Daily Chronicle's Constantinople correspondent reports that the Grand Duke Nicholas has called out tho Montenegrin army. Fighting is proceeding on the frontier as though war had been declared. The destruction of Christian villages near Berana has been resumed. Barbaric acts have been witnessed. Seven heads were carried on poles about Berana. and children were mutilated. The Montenegrins have re-occupied Berana, and are besieging tho Turksin the fort.
A MONTENEGRIN PROTEST
AGAINST TURKISH BRUTALITIES.
(Received This Morning 12.24 o'clock.) PARIS, August 24. The Montenegrin Consul-General has received a despatch from Cettinje, in which Montenegro protests against tho incessant Turkish fusilades on the frontier, which are being directed against women and children.

CONSTANTINOPLE, August 24. Dyjvid has entered Berana, and.the Montenegrins dispersed. The situation on the frontier bar, improved.
Russia, and Austria-Hungary have urged the Porte to ratify the Protocol of 1908, relating to the modification of the frontier in the -Jesse re district,. It is understood that the Porte has acquiesced.
