MODEL DAIRY FARM.
It is unfortunate,' in more ways than one, that the Prime Minister should have told % Tarnnaki deputation last week that he contemplated establishing a model dairy farm in the Egmont electorate. Even the hint of such a thing will hf> seized upon by the other side in politics ard construed into an election bribe. But the necessity for a model dairy farm is a thing about which we are by no means certain. How could such a farm be of benefit in a district where such high prices are for land, and where the most scrupulous economy is already practised? Tho experimental farms have been costly enough. A model dairy farm, run by the State, would probably bo a more dismal failure.
