SEAMAN STABS HIS .CAPTAIN-

(Received Last Night 10.30 o'clock.> SYDNEY, August 23. A sensational stubbing afFray' occurred at Newcastle.

Two seamen belonging to a German. ship wore sentenced to six weeks' for desertion, One of the men named Cosick was being placed in the police van, when he got free and rushed up to Captain Preiss, Master of the ship : and stabbed him twice in-the back.

The- captain was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not serious, a thick coat saving him.

Cosick w-r.6 arrested
