THE OPPOSITION.
The fact that Sir Joseph Ward has declined to accept the position of Leader of His Majesty's Opposition, and that no other person has been se-i-'ctod, is conclusive evidence that all hope of ousting the sitting Government during the present session of Parliament Ins been abandoned. It is evidence also of the fact that ibeiv is absolutely no cohesion and no community of interest among those who .occupy the Opposition benches. The Liberal lion and the Radiol land) cannot long remain together. ft is only a question of time when the genuine Liberals will throw in their "lot tyith the present Government. The fight of the future is going to be between the Liberals and the Radicals.
