ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
IX THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

WELLINGTON, Last Night, In answer to questions in the House of Representatives this afternoon,. Ministers stated that it is the intention of the Government to allow the large painting of the New Zealand Dreadnought to be exhibited in various art galleries in those centres of the Dominion which have adequate accommodation.
The question of repealing section 25 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, so as to leave local bodies whose loans are not obtained through the Government free to appoint their own commissioners for the sinking funds of such loans is now being considered, with a view to giving the required relief.
The proposed amendment of the I Defence Act will be introduced at the ,
earliest opportunity. Until it is passed, the law as it stands must be complied with.
