MEETING AT TINUI
A meeting, called, by the Tinui branch of the Farmers' Union to discuss tlie question- of the East Coastrailway, was held in the Tinui Publie Hall on Tuesday afternoon. 'There* was a Targe and representative gathering, presided over by Mr J. A. Groves. Mr C. E. Daniel!, of Masterton, was present, by invitation, and explained: the history and present position of the movement to open up the country byrailway. A long discussion took place on "Jie project, several of those present- r x--pressing the opinion that the laiTway ■should go further east than was proposed in Mr Dobson's report. The suggestion was made that the route of tlie line should be through Weraiti and Brancepeth, along the Wiaihora. creek into the Whareama, \ alley. t.i:ence to Tinui, and along the Tintii Yallev to Pongaroa. via Waihoki Valley. The whole of those present decided to join the Tinui branch of the Pongaroa League, and Mr H. A. Novin«* was appointed Tinui delegate to joins the proposed deputation to the Minister. Mr Daniell was accorded a h-?.>rty vote of thanks for bis attendance and information.
