THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

The current, programme at the For, esters' Hall last evening was greatly. appreciated by the large audience present. The big star item was "The Redemption," telling a story of a | beautiful girl, her fickle love, her de.: gradation, and her ultimate rise and redemption. ~"A splendid story with' a splendid moral" was. the universal verdict of those .who witnessed;" the drama. No one should miss this great dramtf. " ' the other pictures were of a very high order, and met with hearty applause. "The Coming; of the Lambs" was very appropriat 3,. in view of -the fact that lambing is just commencing in, this district.: Those interested in the outer world were well catered for. The scenics wer e "Archipelago Stockholm," and' "Dakeraud the Bay of Gorce." The stories told in the dramatic subjects* were varied, though in each.'ease.:.'., they were interesting and of a fascinating type. These included "Rice and Old Shoes," "Brown of Havard," "Out of-the Depths," and "Paid in his Own Coin." A photo-play like "Out of the .Depths" is one which will not be readily forgotten, and its patheti* story is really human and interesting. There is nothing forced about it. It is a "possible" story, and it appeals to one as something'more than this—it is. highly probable. The Lubiti drama, "Rice and Old Shoes" delighted last night's audience with its ivai. T e< story of old associations. Ripples of laughter accompanied the screening of the humorous, subject?. The best comics were "A Present, from Her > Huslwnd," "Little -Delicatessen Store," nnd "Won by a Fish." A very anuwiug item was "The Humpty Difmpty Circus," which found special favour with the little ones. "The music by the T. P. Orchestra was a treat to. listen to, while the pictures wore projected in Mr Harry Harrison's well-known finished style. The programme will be repeated tonight.
