WHERE WAIRARAPA BUSINESS
IS GOING.
A renresentative of. the Wairarap* Age has gleaned information which goes to show that a big bid is being made bv Auckland and Palmerston North firms for-the.trade of the Waiararapa and Forty-mile Bush. One large Auckland firm sends lists,of groceries, clothing, implements and general farm requirements throughout the Bush and Wairarapa districts. Goods .to the value of £5 and over are *ent to any address-, railage prepaid. This firm has travellers who are constantly visiting the district. Resident representatives of Auckland implement makers, engineers, saddlery importers and monumental masons and other firms are doing business in the district. Palmerston" North firms are also exploiting the district. The extent of the operations of Auckland and Palmerstpn North firms is rot known, but it is said to be considerable. Wellington and Masterton firms will have to look to their laurels.
