THREE THOUSAND KILLED
EARTH TREMORS CONTINUE
(Received Last Night 5.5 o'clock.)
CONSTANTINOPLE, August 17. The Americn man-o'-war Scorpion has visited the scene of the ijecont earthquake. It is estimated that three thousand persons were killed and six thousand injured.
It i& almost to approach some of the villages, owing to the stench arising fram unburied corpses. The earth tromoite continue. There are numerous deep fissures in the oarfch. Only a few houses on tho sea front at Myriophiton are standing.
The Red d-oscent Greek Societies are doing good work in .relieving distress.
