HUSSJN) AND WiF£ SHOT MURDERER. ATTEMPTS SUICIDE. (Received La>st Night 9.25 o'clock.). SYDNEY, August 15. A tragedy occurred at Lily field, where a man named Harry Johnson fatally (shot George Morgan, and wounded the latter's wife, and then himself in the mouth. Morgan took his intended wife to his brother's place to stay on Saturday, and married her yesterday. At dinner tine to-day Morgan came homo and asked Ids wife to accompany him to the back yard, where they found Johnson. After some heated talk Johnson drew a revolver and phot Morgan and his. wife. Rushing through the house he shot himself on the footpath. LATER DETAILS. VARYING STORIES TOLD. (Received Last Night 10.10 o'clock.) SYDNEY, August 15. Varying stories are told concerning the tragedy. One is that the woman, who.is the wife of Johnston, quarrelled with her husband and It ft him. Morgan took" her to his brother's house under the name of Miss 'Russell, stating that he intended to marry her, but it is uncertain if he did. She has been admitted to ,he ! hospital in the name of Mrs Johnston, and is suffering from a bullet won id through the hand, and a blow on the head frcm the hittt of a revolver. Johnstone is in a serious condition . Morgan received two bullets in the head. The ageg of the victims are from 22 to 25.
