SALE OF DAIRY STOCK. | Messrs Abraham and Williams, Lim- i :'ted, report having held a very sue- ] cessful dairy sale on behalf of Mr D. Sealey, Mariraa, on Monday, 12th ins-t. The cows offered were a good lot, and sold up to £l2, and the whole herd of 4o cows averaged the high figure of £B. Macintosh awl Co., report having held their luaial weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) sale y.M-tls en Wednesday, 14th August, when they offered yarding well above advertised numbers, which met with only fair competition, but the whole yarding was cleared well up to lato rates.'. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was very keen throughout the sale, especially for hoggets and wetherfj. We are pleased to report a total clpar- • ance. Wethers brought from 15s to 15s 6d, hoggets 100 lid to 14.5. 2tooth ewes 17s 9d, aged owes in hmb 12s 9d to 14s, empty ewes lis 6d to 13?.', milk cows MASTERTON" STOCK SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report their Sol way >s:vle as follows: An ex-, eeptionally good entry for this tnne of the year of all clasps of sheep came forward, principally hoggets and wethers. The special entry of 1000 2 and 4-tooth wethers on account of Mr .Hume, Aohonga, came forward in splendid order, and' wc have no hesitation in siiying that for a straight line of equal numbers no better .sheen j have come forward to the y a rely for i .some years. The wethers were well j grown, and in good -condition, a.nd I showed an excellent fleece, and considering the many miles of sticky, j muddy roads they hxl to encounter on their long drive in from the coast, the stock came forward in first-class J order. Keen competition; took place J for each lot offered, and prices were most satisfactory. The wethers sold as under:—Top draft fat wethers, 15 at 21s; 121 forward wethers at 19s, 36. ditto at 18s Gd, 712 at 17s 9d, 61 at 16s sd.
