OPINION OF FEDERAL EXPERT. (Received Last Night, 10.10 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, August 14. Mr Dannevig. Federal l'isheries export, declares that the public lias no chance of buying more than a quarter of the fish that should be available, because tho resources of the contiguous ocean are not being exploited. Ho is satisfied that a well-managed trawling steamer would make a profit of £6OOO yearly. The cost of fish, he said, shouM not be more than fourpenco per lb retail.
