RACING PERMITS
PETITIONS TO THE HOUSE. (By Telegraph,—Press Association■) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Many petitions brandies of. the Sports Protection League were presented to the House of Representatives to-day, praying for a reasonable increase in the number of racing days. In answer to questions, the Minister for Internal Affairs stated that if any proprietary Easing Club now receives license to use the totalisator, it' not receive precedence in any future distribution of psrinitr over puWdy-ow'ied and c?ntrcJ!c:! clubs. The Government lias nothanded over, nor has it any intention of handing over, the allotment of racing permits to any conference.
