WAIRARAPA PRESBYTERY
MEETING IN MASTERTON. A meeting of the "Wairarapa Presbytery was held on Tuesday in Kitox Hall, Masterton, there being present —Rev J. K. Stowell, moderator, Revs L. Thompson, A. T. Thompson, Mills and Young, Messrs Ralph and Rattray, home missionaries, ancl Messrs Falla, Wilton and Bruce, alders. With reference to the resignation of Mr James Rattray, it was decided after consultation with him. that bo should continue in the Pongaroa charge until the Rev P. B. Fraser, the assembly organiser, should bo able to visit the district. . It was intimated that the late Mr Alexander I'ryde had bequeathed a site for a church at Nireaha, ii) the Eketahuiia parish, and that the local members intended to build a church there during the coining summer. Tlie Presbytery agreed to support the petition of the Christchurch Presbytery appealing to the Government to safeguard .''the icvvil frights, and social interests of thnso liable to bo affected by the IVpal Ne Temere > decree. In connection with the scheme for Presbyterial visitation, a committee was set up to visit Featherston at an earlv date.
