The Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National meeting opened to-day in glorious weather, and in the presence of a large attendance of the piiblic. The course was in good order considering the severe weather experienced. The following are the results of the day's racing.— Hunters' Hurdle Race —Hakari 1, Ron Ruby 2. Parallel 3. Trial Hrudles —Beacon 1. St. Kevin 2, Nescot 3. Jumpers' Flat —The Rover 1, Uranium 2, White Cockade 3. Grand National Steeplechase—Captain Jingle 1, Paritutu 2. Armagh 3. Tally Ho Plate Steeplechase—Pukeroa 1, Craig Dugald 2 Renee 3. Winter Cup—-Magdala 1, Prosper 2, Sea Queen 3. Enfield Steeplechase—Stone Ginger 1, Kelp 2, St. Amelia 3. Avonhead Handicap—Taketnmu 1. Query 2, Brown Trout 3.
