WELLINGTON, Last Night. The barometer fell on Saturday morning, but rose smartly during tho night and, on Sunday, when the winds changed to the South. • Cold and stormy weather was experienced especially in th c South Island, and southern parts of tile North Island. Considerable rain, snow, hail and slec-t fell on tho Eaot Coast and on ths high or levels.
Present indications are for strong easterly winds .northward of East Cap: and Kawhia, with moderate to strong sontheriies, decreasing elsewhere and then changing to increasing northerlies, after about twenty hours of cold, and fair to cloudy weather will probably prevail with ranie scattered local showerfc. The barometer w;!! probably fall everywhere after 21 hours, and a low pressure area will pas, 9 in the touth about Wednesday night.
