The strike of truckers, involving <i:u almost complete cessation of work at the Kaitangata mine. continues. Tlio management posted a notice to-day tliafc all employees who absent thernselvc:: 011 Tuesday, except through illness, will be considered to have disobeyed instructions, and will be. dismissed. Such men will be paid off oil Thursday. A meeting of employees was held subsequently, to consider a course of action. There were about 110 out of some 320 employees present. The meeting, wliich was private, lasted over two hours, and was then adjourned till Tuesday lnominer. T t i« m>derstood that it was decided, by 103 votes to 5, to continue the stn'ke. A resolution was also nassed that the miners would not truck coal in the absence of the truckers. The Labour Department has been commnwith, with the object of pro- > scctiting the strikers.
