The Master of Elibank explains that with a view to preventing a- threecornered contest he endeavoured to facilitate an amicable arrangement, without desiring to influence the executive's decision. Now that tho decision has been taken, lie trusts that the Liberals will strenuously support Mr Alexander Shaw, the Liberal candidate.
