Lady Campbell, widow of the late Sir John Campbell, died at Auckland on Sunday after a short illness.
A London cable announces the •death of Sir Joseph Dimsdale, who was Lord Mayor of London in 1901-2.

From Greymouth comes news of the death of Mr George Whittaker, of the firm of Whittaker Bros, booksellers and stationers, Wellington, and Grevinouth. Deceased was born at Handsworth, Staffordshire, England, in 1850.
The cloatli lias occurred of Mr John "Williams, of Devonport (Auckland) % pt the age of seventy yeans. Mr Williams came to the Dominion from Hertford over forty years ago. and shortly afterwards bought a property in Wyndham Street, in which he successfully carried on business. It, has'been decided by Cabinet that the tourist section of the Department of Agriculture shall bo placed inider tho charge of Mr B. M. Wilson (hitherto secretary for the branch) as manager, and that the Hon. I\. Hhodes shall be in charge of the Department. Mr H. A. Jnrier., architect, rf Mastertoiri', received the sad intelligence yesterday, of the death of his father, Mr Ricliard Jones, at the age of 79 years. The late Mr Jones arrived in the colony in 1810, and n'M at all the, princip.il diggings in the early day?. Ho leaves a widow, three sons and three daughters. Mr H. A. Jones leaves, for the South this morning to Attend, the funeral, which takes place at Haveloek .South to-morrow.
