English ideas and customs nave been introduced into tihe Orient, and are spreading rapidly;,this, along with the world's increasing population, ha» caused an extra demand for all kinds of food, etc., and as the producing area has not increased correspondingly, it at onoe reflects on the producing countries, and raises prices.
