J The representative hockey match, i Hawke's Bay versus Taranaki, was played here this afternoon, Hawke's Bay Avinning by six goals to nil.' The Jocr.l forwards outclassed the visiting vanguard in the first half and netted three goals, Blimdel! scoring two and Hallett one. Taranaki shoAved better combination in the second spell, but > tho home team's superiority in "he filler points of the game enabled them to add three more goals, Bhrndell scoring two and Anderson one. The recent rains had rendered the ground iu a very heavy condition, and consequently play Avas not of a very high standard.
