SCHOOLS MATCH. WAIRA LIAPA v. WELLINGTON. Tlie match between fcJio Wellington and Wairarapa schoolboys, played at Wellington on Saturday, resulted in a draw', after a good match that was stubbornly fought all the way. Wellington played against the wind in the first spell, whieli terminated without either side having scored. When the ground' and the weather arc taken into consideration, the match must be written down as a good exhibition, and there were indications that, had tho day been good, the boys would have shown some good passing work. Wairarapa were the first to score, Dickenson getting across as the result of some clever dribbling. The try was not converted. Wellington, after many fruitless attempts, scored just before the end, McCarlie getting over near the posts. He took the kick 'himself, shut failed, and tho game ended: Wellington 3, Wairarapa 3.

TEAMS ENTERTAINED,

In tho evening tin teams were entertained Iby the Wellington Public (Schools Rugby Union, Mr F. A. Hempieman (president of the Union) presided. and there was a representative attendance of adults, among whom were: Hon F. iM. H. Wisher (Minister of Internal Affairs), Messrs N, Galbraitli (chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union), E. (). Hales (chairman of the Wellington Rugby Union), besides a number of local and visiting schoolmasters.
