AT THE TOWN HALL,
Another large audience was present* at the Town Hail last evening, when the current programme of pictorial gem 3 was again screened. "Drummed Out, a magnificently conceived, drama, was the star attraction,, and greatly pleased those present, who gave vent to their feelings by repeated applause. The piece is cleverly portrayed, and the acting is superb, while the scenery is in keeping' with tho subject. Supporting this gem are. a number of films which complete a distinctly great programme. "The. Sheriff's Punishment" is a gripping and enthralling American drama, in which many phases of life in the Western States of America are realistically portrayed, and showing tlie underhand dealing of the sheriff recoil upon his own head. "An Attic Romance" is a. pathetic drama, detailing the.story of an artist's life in a great city, and how he was led astray, and finally saved by his sweetheart. This pathetic storywill appeal to all. The scenics are an exceptional lot, and c-omprise films of high educational value including "Australian Gazette," "Boar Hunting in Germany," and "Paper Guttings.' ' The amusing element is splendidly maintained by such screamers, as "Quickly Cured," "Jane's Aeroplane Flight," and "Our Darliings." Two new films were shown last evening in "Tide of Battle" and "Fickle Spaniard," both of which .are highly interesting dramas. This excellent programme will bo continued to-night and to-morrow evening the usualchange will be submitted.

I Last night the Foresters' 'Hall was | woU Med to witness the change of programme. The ib'ig "star" attractj ion was the Cines Company's elpilendid romantic drama "Sicilian; Blood," a picture that was greatly appreciated. The oti)or films wore also of a very high order. Turfites were greatly delighted with "The English Derby, 1912." JNot only arc the -races fiecur vevy well, but the crowds and vehicu- ( lar tralne wending their way in the direction of ths eour&e aire shown, and present a very animated picture. An. interestifmg sectioin of the film 5s that where King George arrives. Another iinatnvctive part is where several hundred policemen assemble, prior to entering the ground. A v'erv fiiiistructive item showed "The Burning of the New York Insurance Buildings." Here it could be fee en how a huge fire was managed. The network of leads was amazing. It would be hard t« surpass the views as depicted an. "Winter Scenes in Sweden.' f Snow was pre_ sen'ted in- abundance, and the pretty | little nooks and waterfalils about which it had fallen, presented to New Zea(landers a spectacle seldom if ever witI nessed by them. Other films which I were of a!n educational' turn showed the onlookers various views of o'c- | turoisque Seville (Spain-, Grots, r.r.rd an Excursion to Desert lyles. In the. views of Sevile a remarkable feature was the beautiful gardens, dotted AVith. statuary anil fountains. A 'bird's-eye view of the city from a high altitude showed the siize and type of the great centre. To cater for thos?e who arefond of a, little excitement two witd west pictures were screctitod —"lola's Promi.se." an id "The Cowboy and Easterner."
