CARTERTON NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Sergeant-Mirjor McCristell, of the 9fch Regiment, .second battalion of Territorials, has received notice to transfer his licadquarters to Carterton. It is reported that Mr Hubert Baylies, tat? of To Boro, has purchased Mr R. G. Welch'* farm at Matarawa - at £35 per acre. The irainfaJl fcn: Carterton during the past month was 12.11 indies. A sub-committee appointed by the Carterton Borough Council met, the comnnittcj 'from the Wai'rarapa South County Council on Tuesday, and made a tour of inspection over the country which was jrffeeted by the recent flood. ' '
