Bates, of the Meteorological Office, tnis evening issued the Allowing report:— The .barometer ccm.ir.c-ncod to riV.in some parts early on Sunday morning, and the conditions, though still very' uirsettlrd, present an improved aspect, this evening. Cold, showery, and squally weather is, r:ported in many parts, .with a south-westerly gde at East Cape, and a north-east-erly modc.'ate gale at Cape Foulwind, accompanied by a local: thunderstorm . Prcccvit indications are for strong ■southerly winds generally, with cold, changeable and showery weather; but improving shortly. The barometer will' jsrobahl'y rise-everywhere for a fDW.d.iy.ci, but another disturbance b likely to be in evidence about the end; of the' week.
