HOSPITAL'S NARROW ESCAPE
A MISDIRECTED SHELL. (Received July 29. 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 28. During the destroyers' night attack off Spithead, in connection with the mobilisation of the Portsmouth Garrison, a shell whizzed past the Haslar Hospital, instead of, being aimed at the moving targets acccompanying the warships, and was embedded in the lawn of the hospital, but did not explode. An enquiry is being opened.
