PROSECUTION OF CADETS
GROSSLY EXAGGERATED,
Received This Morning, 12.45 o'clock;
MELBOURNE, July 28. The Hon. G. F. Pearce, Commonwealth. Minister of .'Defence, characterises the cabled reference to the Cadets as grossly exaggerated. The figures, he states, arc absolutely inaccurate. . He does not think the prosecutions will reaeh anywhere near the number stated.
A few days ago a Melbourne cable stated, that the Commonwealth Defence Department was about to take steps to prosecute some thousands of cadets, who wore not enrolled under the Defence Act in various parts of Australia.
