TARANAKI v. SOUTH ISLAND COUNTRY TEAM. (By Telegraph—Press Acsociation.) STRATFORD, Last Night. The South Island Country representatives played the second match of the tour at Stratford to-day, when Taranaki defeated them by 31 points to 3. The ground was fast and the weather fine. In. the first five minutes Forbes scored for the visitors, Hawkins doing the same for Taranaki three minutes later. Both tries were unconverted. Taranaki increased their score to eight points, Stohr scoring and converting as an outcome of brilliant combined play by the Taranaki backs. The second spell opened with a try by Don Cameron, which Stohr converted. Shortly after the same player kicked a penalty goal. The South team then became "demoralised, and a passing rush in which half the team handled the ball, ended in Stohr scoring. His kick at goal failed. Don Cameron further increased the scoro by an unconverted try, an<] potted a goal near the 25 peg. Before the whistle sounded Young scored from 0 (forward rush, Don Cameron adding the major points.
