The Highland danVing was a fovturo of the gathering, and it is evident from the manner in. ' which rnain.y of till© younger persons the Scotch reels, ivnd the ■dassfc® htUd by Motors Mcßae and JSuftherliaud during the past few weeks have bonne good results. Hairing the evening tho -resident of the Society, Mr James Pauling, prcwanited Mr A. McLieod, chief cf the Society, with a gold pendant, suitably as a mark of tihe esteem in wihich he is held. Mr A. J. Giddircgs, <m behalf cf th-e. pupiiil's, who have Ibeen attending the Highland dancing clos'Seis, presenlted Mr Rod Mediae ■with a very handsome o*ak tray, and Mr Walter Sutherland ,with a beautiful oak salad bowl, as a mark .of appreciation) of the ,siea"v{i<ces in teaching members of the Society the art ot Highland dancing. The large number present Jast evening tcnids to show the great popularity of the gatherings of Hhs, Sc-eiety. No dodbt the excellent arrangements which are always made "by (Mr W.
