(Our Own Correspondent.) The solid sterling silver key to be presented to the Hon. R. H. Rhodes, Minister for Hospitals,-at the opening of the Buchanan Home at Greytown -to-day, is a very fine piece of work. The key is about five inches long, and emblazoned on the front top pieoe ?s the Hon. Mr Rhodes' On tfie reverse side is inscribed: "Presented to the Hon. R. H. Rhodes, Minister for Hospitals, on the opening of the Buchanan Home, Grcytotfn, July 25th, 1912." At a meeting of the Carterton Borough Council on Tuesday evening, the Mavor (Mr F. Feist) and Councillors C. J. Smith and W. Fisher were appointed a deputation to wait upon the Wairarapa South County Council on Saturday afternoon, regarding, the flow of water from the County to the properties within the Borough. Another heavy rainfall is being experienced in the district, and the same localities that were flooded last week arc experiencing the same unpleasantness this week. It is not quite so bad in some parts, while in others it is

worse. Daiiiw the month of June the Carterton Borough street lamps 32,760 cub. feet of gas, and the gas engine and l-etort house utilised 11,400 cubic feet.
