A large deputation, of flax and dairy interests is to wait on.the Premier totmcrrow, to ask for legislative relief in connection ,wii(h the inijunctiows to be granted under a judgment of the Cliief Justice n t'he Pearce cases, preventing flaxrmllers from letting vegetable refuse- run into rivers, and in which the Chief Justice stated that even .water <c£ a drifferemt quality run in would be polluting. It is claimed that tiliis prevents drainage from factories or flasmills,; even 'though the matter wais in itself inoffensive, and in sued case would seriously cripple those industries.
