OTTAWA, July 20. Mr Bourassa, the Nationalist Lea-t der, speaking at. Montreal regarding! th© effects of the annexation of Canada liy the United States, endeavour-* led to lead the French Canadians to 1 helieve that they would be no wors© off under the Stars and Stripes than; under the Union Jiack. He declared that the English people in. Quebec would not learn the French language,; and treated French speakers contemptuously. There are signs of a complete breach! between the Nationalist party and! the Bordenites, although, during the elections of 1911, Mr Bourassa was accussed of having sold himself to Mr Borden's pro-British policy.
