GAMBLING IN COTTON PROHIBITED. PRESIDENT TAFT REBUKED. Received This Morning, 12.15 o'clock. NEW YORK, July 17. The House of Representatives has adopted Senator Beale's Bill prohibiting gambling in cotton. The Senate has adopted a resolution denouncing any "attempt by the President to influence any vote within the Senate's exclusive jurisdiction. The resolution is considered to be a severe rebuke to President Taft for allegedly influencing the Republican Senators against Senator Lorimer, the Democratio leader.
