BOROUGH COMMITTEES.
The Masterton Borough Council decided last evening to revert to the system, of oommittecy, iwhk'h was in vogue some years ago. Probably this course has ibeen taken because it is thought that "everybody's business is nobody'.y lousiness." In other important (municipalities a large proportion of the work is transacted by subcommittees, but whether it is done .more effectively than if could have been, done by the Council as ai whole is a matter purely of opinion. So far as the iMasterton Park and Gasworks are concerned, they both require a lot"of attention, and it seemy ■to us that the Council is acting wisely in setting up special committees to deal with thenf.
