NEW ZEALAND FORECAST (By Tcltgraph — Prett Ataociation.) WELLLNQTON, Last NightTho Rev. D. O. Bates, of the Meteorologioal Office, this evening issued the following roport:-
A cyclonic ■system lias enveloped the whole country,, with the barometer lower in tho North. Heavy rain has fallen in mi any parts, especially on the East Coast of the South Island, with imidh snow on the higher levels. High northerly winds have been experienced in North and South, to southerly gales in parts elsewhere. Present indications are.for wcst*ly winds, -strong to gale, veering to southerly, northward 'of New Plymouth and Napier, and south-eayterh-cr.-. strong to gnie prevailing elsewhere. Heavy rain is probable generally. Snow on higher levels, and 'hail to squalls in. parti l ;. The weather will be much coikler soon, and the barometer will be rising everywhere shortly. Expect very he.i.vy seas, and rivery flooded, en the East- Coast of the South Island especially.
