A CARTERTON COLLISION
CYCLIST AND MOTOR CAR
Shortly before eleven o'clock on Sunday (morning, a youth named (Montague Yates, whilst cycling down Holloway Street, Carterton, at a fast pace in company with a (Maori hoy, collided with a, motor •bar driven by Mr ffl. Cave, chauffeur for D.r Johnston, m'ho was proceeding along High Street, .the oollision taking place at the junction of the two (streets. The impact knocked the .hoy off his bicycle, and ithe car passed over him. He was 'bleeding profusely from a wound in the head, and was iremioved to Dr Johnston's residence, where he was attended and .sent to his home. 'Subsequently t?ie 'boy was removed to the Greytowa Hospital, where he received every attention. On enquiry this imbruing »we .learned that his chief injuries consist of (bruises, a few skin abrasions, and shock. (No (blame can ibe attached to the driver of the car, who used hi® best endeavours to avoid a (collision when he noticed the 'boys (racing towards 'him as 'he came to the, street corner.
