WELLINGTON, Last Night
The Rev. D. O. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued the following report:—
Heavy rain, with south-easterly winds strong to gale, have be'en experienced cm the East Coast of the South 'lsland bom [toward of Banks Pcndnisula. Snow has' 'also Ibeen reported on the higher levels. Rain has fallen in most parts cf the Dominion,, and cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed. The barometer is lowest about Cook Strait, and the winds have decreased to-dav.
