VISIT YORKSHIRE COLLIERIES
ENTHUSIASM AND LOYALTY DISPLAYED.

LONDON. July 10.
The King and Queen, during their Yorkshire visit, have requested that they be tendered no addresses or bouquets, and as littlo ceremonial as possible. They desire .to see how their .subjects live and work. The tour of the mining villages has already covered forty miles. "* The Union Jack was flying at nearly every pit shaft, and everywhere the u tin rot 'Vyiv'.y and enthusiasm was displayed. -*, During the visit to Elsecar, tho first instance was witnessed of a British monarch descending a colliery. The King was lowered 350 yards in 59 seconds, and proceeded half a mile underground. Borrowing a pick he bowed a quantity of coal, keeping some pieces as mementoes. He was below for forty minutes.
