Mir Gregson clw.nt. iipcn the importance of playing with the .ba)l cf the finger, and not 'with straight, fitngery, the heist tone being obtained out of a piano by the former method. Before Baebste'in's tinie ail! the playing was done with straight fingers, no thunubs being used, it being then tbe proper tyle. Now the thumb was made use of, and was ais good as two fingers.
