MONTHLY MEETING OF tfQMMiTTEE.

The 'monthly meeting of the Committee of th\j .Mastcrtori A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon, in tho Association offices, there being present— Messrs H. Morrison (President), G. C. Summerel'l, ]>. Hayner, J. Stramg, I). J. Foreman, W. J. Welch, J. P. Pony, ,1. E. Periry, D. Caselibe.rg,, W. H. fluick, JO. Harper, 11. 1). J>agg, E. G. Allen, W. 11. Jrvmes and 10. Evans.

The monthly report of the caretaker of the grounds was received. A letter was read from the secretary af tho Hereford Cattle Breeders' Association, fetathig that it had been decided to donate 1 a trophy valued at £5 5s for competition at the next show for the best pen of two three-year-old Hereford bullocks.— Jt was decid!;d to thanik the Society for its donation.

Tho General 'Manager of Railways notified that the name of the Purakau railway illation would bo altered to "Solway" as from July 2'lst.

FINANCE COMMITTEE.

Tho report of the meeting of the Fintmca Committee, at which Mr G. C. iSuniimerol'l presided, was read. Tho Treasurer isailbmitted a financial

| statement showing the expenditure for tho month to have be?n £192 16s lid, and the receipts £392 lis 9d. The debit balance alt date was stated to be £961 os lOd. Accounts amounting to £133 2s 2d wore passed for payment. The secretary presented a -statement of accounts to June 30th for adjustment. The Treasurer commented favourably on tho advance ■made by tlhe Association during the year. It was deckled to write off as follows: Improvements, £4Ol 2s 8d ; plans and office furmiturei, £33 19s 3d ; donations, £'S 4s; entry fees, £7 k>. Tlie Treasurer stuted that there was a profit on the year's working of £IOB-1 5s Bd. This amount was reduced to £649 3s 9d., however, by the writing off of £433 Is lid on improvements and plar.ft account. The balance Oif assets over liabilities? was shown as £73G4 13s id,, as against £6751 8s 4:d for 'the year 1910-11. It was generally considered that insufficient time was allowed between, the •dosing cf (the financial year and the annual meeting, and the Committee stated that an extension of time way advisable.

In seconding the motion, Mr* D. 'Caselibergl stated that, aid (tilings- being considered., the Association had had a most successful year. Tlio President. (Mr Morrison) stated that altogether they had expended £llOO during the year in improvements and .reduction of overdraft.
